The pocket-sized Mathematics Handy Guide series takes you through almost everything you'll need for your examinations. The student-friendly writing style would mean that these guidebooks can be used by any student who picks up a copy. Here's a short guide on how to maximise the potential of your Mathematics Handy Guide.

Typesetting Conventions

To help students distinguish between the important stuff and the really important stuff, the following conventions have been consistently used in our guides.

• Whenever we introduce an important keyword that you must know, it will appear orange and bold.
• Whenever an expression has to be emphasised or is algebraic, the text would be shown in italic.

Orange Boxes

Orange boxes contain useful information that every student should know, each serving one of the three different purposes as shown below. To provide convenience for your revision, you will find the heading tip, note or caution.

• A small tip allows you to work more efficiently and effectively, so be sure to have them at your fingertips.
• Boxes are used to denote common trouble spots, so take note of the important ideas which are often tested.
• Don't say that you were not cautioned about the common mistakes, always take precautions to avoid these traps.

Remember, focus on those little orange boxes appearing almost everywhere in the guide.
